1.What tools are required for assembly?
A flat head screwdriver is required to align the
barrel connectors. A wrench for tightening the bolts
is included with the bed.
2. Does the bed meet the bunkbed requirements isssued
by the Consumer Product Safety Commission?
The bed is designed to meet all of the requirements.
3. Why do you use laminated posts?
Laminated posts are stronger and more stable than
solid posts.
4. What is a modified mortise and tennon joint?
The ends of each horizontal member of the frame
slide into slots routed into each post. This makes a
stronger bed.
5. What kind of lumber is southern pine lumber?
Renewable southern pine is the strongest and
most durable softwood available.
6. Can you finish southern pine?
Loftliving's moulded finish will accept paint, stain,
or it can remain unfinished.
7. How strong is the bed?
We stacked packs of lumber on the bed slats (which
supports the mattress) to test the strength of the bed.
We stopped at 3000 pounds with no signs of failure.
8. Where does the optional side ladder go on the bed?
The ladder is designed to hook onto the top guardrail.
This design allows you to place the ladder
anywhere on the bed.
